The Ink Society was very honoured to present a talk on Wu Guanzhong by former Chief curator of HKMoA Szeto Yuenkit. In his insightful talk, Szeto spoke about the artist's unique connection to the city and the Hong Kong Museum of Art, beginning in the late 1970s. Wu visited the city on numerous occasions and also sketched on the streets—the city is the subject of many of his paintings. His close connection with the city resulted in an important donation by the artist and his family of over 440 paintings and archival and historical materials to the Museum. Szeto also introduced Wu's art and artistic theories, as well as his recently published book Wu Guanzhong.Hong Kong .Museum of Art.
