Building the Museum, Building the City - Major Renovation of the Hong Kong Museum of Art
Talk by Eve Tam, Museum Director, Hong Kong Museum of Art
Established in 1962, the Hong Kong Museum of Art is commencing a major renovation whereby the museum will increase its exhibition space by over 40% to cater for the repositioning of the museum and for new programming needs. In this presentation, Eve spoke about the physical reshaping of museum, as well as the visions for future connection of the city museum with people locally and globally. She also highlighted the special role of ink art in the newly renovated museum's curatorial vision.
