Head of Contemporary Art at the Asian Art Museum San Francisco Abby Chen gave an inspiring presentation on her recent initiatives to champion underrecognised Asian American artists, as well as the Museum's new focus on Hong Kong contemporary art. Abby spoke about her recently curated exhibitions, including the solo exhibition of Asian American artist Bernice Bing, and the solo exhibition of animation director and visual artist Kongkee, which responded to the Museum's own archaeological Chinese collection.
Museum Director Jay Xu joined briefly from the US via Zoom. He shared a few words on the Museum's transformative expansion and its forthcoming exhibitions and programmes.
